Bailey Earith is a mixed media fiber artist and teaching artist in Maryville, TN. She offers artist-in-residencies to K-12 students. Using her Occupational Therapy skills, she specializes in teaching academics thru art to children with disabilities. She also enjoys presenting community events like make-it take-it and adult classes. She has artwork in collections around the world. She has been published extensively in magazines and books for her innovative work in the studio and as an artist-in-residence. She is proud to be a Borderless Arts and TAC artist roster member and is associated with the Knoxville Arts & Culture Alliance.

Program Title: Create a character; tell a story

Program Type: Arts Integration

Program Description:

Students will use fabric, yarn and found objects to create and embellish a 3-dimensional figure. This figure then becomes the central character in the story they write.

Age: Middle school. Also perfect for HS Special Education.

Program Title: Beginning Geometry using Traditional log cabin quilt patterns

Program Type: Arts Integration

Program Description:

Students will use paper strips to create traditional log cabin blocks. Students also work with triangles to design and create various settings for half square triangle designs. Students learn the history and symbolism behind this pattern. Students work with graph paper and rulers.

Age: 3rd-4th grade

Program Title: The Art of Making Art Books

Program Type: Arts Curriculum

Program Description:

Students will learn how to create a journal using a variety of techniques. Students will decorate their journal while exploring various art terms like: pattern, background, repetition, contrast, etc. Journal can then be used for creative writing exercise.
