AfricaNashville’s objectives are to promote African music and dance and help foster cultural exchanges in Nashville and beyond. Here is a presentation of our principal artists :
Ibrahima Dioubate is a master percussionist from Guinea, West Africa, who represents a culture that dates back as far as the Mali Empire. Tumelo Moloi is a South African gumboots and Zulu dancer who performed with ‘Cirque du Soleil’ for 11 years. Windship Boyd is a Franco-American dancer who has worked and trained in West Africa since 2004. All three artists have taught in schools, universities and community centers for participants of all ages.
