The University of TN at Martin Department of English and Modern Foreign Languages offers a one-day conference each fall. The Young Writers conference is designed to provide students in grades 6-12 an opportunity to explore and develop through written expression. During the conference, students engage in a variety of exercises and create pieces of writing, connect with other young writers from the region, and collaborate and learn with outstanding writers and teachers. Students and their teachers can attend a luncheon with the special keynote address and participate in an open mic reading of works created while attending various conference workshops.
