About

Thomas Lee Spann Jr., a Charleston, SC native raised in Eadytown, SC, is an accomplished percussionist, educator, and performer. Inspired by his father, Thomas Lee Spann Sr., and mentor Mack Guice II, he developed a passion for drumming that led to a distinguished career in music and education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Benedict College and a Master’s in Music Education from Tennessee State University, and is pursuing an Ed.D. at Trevecca Nazarene University. Mr. Spann has performed internationally, serves as a Nashville music educator and teaching artist, performs with various artists, and is an endorsed Pearl/Adams Percussion artist.

Program Overview

Professor Spann offers engaging, groove-based drum education programs designed for schools, including private lessons, group sessions, drum circles, and drumming masterclasses for all skill levels. Students learn rhythm, pocket, musicality, and performance techniques in a fun, interactive environment that builds creativity, confidence, and teamwork through music.
