The Arts-Based Collaborative, formerly the Southeast Center for Education in the Arts (SCEA), develops future-ready skills in and through the arts. Housed under the College of Health, Education, and Professional Studies at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), the collaborative supports arts-based professional learning goals across a variety of professions including early childhood (Pre-K) and elementary educators (K-5). Through our signature programs such as ABC Mocs, the Arts Learning Lab, and UTC-Wolf Trap, an affiliate program of the national Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, we mentor teachers on designing and delivering research-based strategies in arts-integrated curriculum design, student-centered instruction, play-based learning, backward planning, and reflective practice.
