Showagon at Theatre Memphis has a 37 history of hosting educational programming for Memphis and the Mid-South, from our Daytime Christmas Carol matinees for students, to our on site theatre tours and our hands on experiences both on and off campus, we have opportunities and experiences for every age group and budget.

Additionally our Tech Academy for ages 13 to 19 has opportunities to engage, train, and mentor your students in all areas of backstage.

Daytime Christmas Carol Student Matinees run a little over an hour an are a great way to introduce kids to theatre.

Program Title: Tech Academy at Theatre Memphis

Program Type:

Program Description:

Tech Academy at Theatre Memphis: is a wonderful opportunity for students who are 13-19 years of age to learn about and participate in all realms of technical theatre: stage management, lighting, sound, sets/props, costumes, makeup, and more.

This year-round program will offer 12 to 16 workshops a year with the goal of training teens within their area of interests. This program will:

1) Include learning hands on skills that will translate into other areas of their lives.

2) Allow them to take the knowledge they acquire back to their schools or churches where they can share their experience with the other organizations that require production based skills.

3) Empower the next generation of the theatre community.
