Lucy Branam lives and writes in Jacksboro, TN. She is a young writer who hopes that as she ages, her bio will get longer and more interesting. She is the author of the picture books Roof Octopus (2018) and Monday (2021), both from Sleeping Bear Press.
Lucy typically writes and creates locked away in her home, so it’s nice for her to get out once in a while and share her books with kids. She hopes to inspire them to become storytellers themselves.

Program Description:
When I present to students, I show some of my own writing from when I was in school. I then give an overview of how I wrote my books, sharing some early drafts. I talk some about what it’s like to be a published author. I then read at least one of my books. I then take questions from students. If requested, I can do a brainstorming activity with students in a classroom setting.
