Knoxville Children’s Theatre, an education-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, is a local theatre company producing professional plays for children, by children. KCT is committed to providing children opportunities to acquire and hone skills that enhance creative thinking, public speaking, project management, personal responsibility, leadership, and team work. All of these opportunities occur in a creative outlet where imagination thrives, self-esteem develops, and students learn the many life lessons that creative dramatics can teach. KCT believes that all children are artistic and many children find their life’s passion in the arts and that every child should have the opportunity to be exposed to theatre arts.
For many children, KCT is their only opportunity to become involved in performing arts. Most schools have eliminated or drastically reduced their performing arts programs. In addition to Knoxville’s children and teens, youth from Oak Ridge, Maryville, Sevierville, Morristown, Lenoir City, and every adjacent county have traveled to KCT to take advantage of KCT’s unique opportunities. These opportunities are provided at NO COST to the child.
