Dr. Joyce McPherson is the founding director of a Shakespeare troupe for young people, which has performed dozens of plays for the community. Her simple scripts and ensemble approach to producing plays have made the works of Shakespeare accessible, and she is now making this opportunity available to other groups who would like to experience Shakespeare’s art. McPherson believes that Shakespeare’s plays are meant to be read aloud, and not just by one person sitting alone in a room, but by a group of people taking all the parts—a process of experiencing the play from the inside.
