The Johnson City Symphony provides live symphonic music to the East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia area. Classical and Pops concerts are offered throughout the season along with a free educational concert for local elementary children. The Symphony has operated in the community for 46 years with local musicians and talent and tremendous community support.

Program Title: Orchestra Olympics

Program Type: Arts Appreciation

Program Description:

A free concert provided by the symphony for local elementary students. Exposure to live symphonic music and up close examination of musical instruments by the musicians are provided. The theme is “Orchestra Olympics” featuring individual sections of the orchestra and unique repertoire illustrating various musical concepts. Reservations are required as seating is limited in the concert hall. However, for the 2015-2016 season, the event will be streamed for those who could not attend due to extenuating circumstances.
