Artist Work Samples

Sample Programs Offered

Program Title: Wild about Research

Program Type: Arts Curriculum, Arts Integration, Arts Appreciation

Program Description:

(Grades 4-Adult)
Presented with wacky animals and stories of hands-on research — in the form of a snake dissection — students discover the fun side of research. Putting their hands on nature artifacts, students experience the joy of genuine inquiry, find inspiration in nature, and develop their own research questions. They practice descriptive writing by using multiple senses, brainstorm analogies, reflect on personal connections, and create their own artifact-based poem.

Program Title: How to Build a Book

Program Type: Arts Curriculum, Arts Integration, Arts Appreciation

Program Description:

(Grades K-4)
Kids have questions: How do you make the cover? Where do the pictures come from? How do you stick it together? This session looks at the writing, the publishing and the printing processes so kids get answers. Learners put their hands on books and consider how they are physically made. Hint: There’s oil and water, lots of revision, and fancy folding involved! Students create their own mini-book and leave with an understanding of the STEAM involved in literary arts!
