The Educational Touring Theatre (ETT) is a premier, curriculum-based professional touring theatre dedicated to bringing learning to life. Founded in 1982, ETT specializes in developing and presenting dynamic theatre programs that align directly with educational goals and academic standards. Over its rich history, ETT has achieved an incredible impact across the country, reaching key milestones that include:

Combining live performance with interactive pedagogy, ETT offers engaging, in-school performances. Every presentation is designed to spark curiosity, featuring a high-energy performance paired with hands-on exploration components. Programs run between 45 to 70 minutes and are perfectly tailored for students in grades 3 through high school.
For the 2026–2027 touring season, ETT is proud to offer a diverse repertoire that explores both the wonders of science and the rich cultural history of music, language, and storytelling. This season’s featured productions include:

– The Energy Detective
Science Performance and Hands-on Workshop

Crack the case of the world’s power supply with The Energy Detective, a high-energy science theatre adventure for grades 3–8! Students join Detective Jemmie Ruff on her toughest mission yet- investigating everything from solar and wind to fossil fuels and nuclear energy-to discover how we can power the future efficiently.

Included with the performance is the hands-on Energy Casebook workshop, where students form their own detective squads to hunt down energy waste through hands-on challenges. These presentations were developed in partnership with Duck River Electric Membership Corporation. The Energy Detective performance runs 70 minutes, Energy Casebook workshops run 45 – 60 minutes.

– Ben Franklin’s Electricity Party
Interactive Science

Travel back in time with Ben Franklin’s Electricity Party, an interactive classroom adventure where grades 3–4 explore the fundamentals of electrical charges. Students join Ben Franklin to reenact his famous kite experiment before diving into the Electricity Party, a hands-on workshop that puts their scientific skills to the test with static electricity. This high-energy program perfectly blends live performance with active discovery to spark a deeper curiosity into science.

– The Stories Our Songs Tell
Musical Performance with Songwriting Workshop

Experience the power of story and song in The Songs That Tell Our Stories, a vibrant performance for grades 5-12, where live musicians serve as narrators to bring every lyric to life. The lyrics, melodies, and rhythms in this show keep the audience moving their feet, singing along, and affirming that one of the most powerful ways to share our history and heart in through a great song!
The inspiration continues with the Songwriting In Community Workshop, an interactive session where a singer-songwriter collaborates with the audience to write their own story through song together!

-De Africa al Caribe: The 5,000 Mile Journey of the Conga Drum
Musical Performance with Drum Clinic

Get ready to groove with Yamil Conga, the Drumming DJ, as he follows the conga drum on a 5,000-mile journey from Africa to the heart of modern music. This high-energy show for grades 5-12 uses historical visuals and catchy rhythms to tell the story of how the drum traveled across the ocean to shape the songs we hear today.

The musical journey continues with the Community Drum Clinic, a hands-on workshop where everyone gets to grab an instrument. It’s an interactive experience that will have you on your feet and drumming along with the beat!
