Founded in 2018, Doors Open Jazz is a non-profit organization committed to the empowerment of the underserved youth in the greater Chattanooga area by providing a musical education on a sliding scale based on what the family can afford. Led by Executive Director/Co-Founder Antoine Williamson, Doors Open Jazz also provides music lessons, classes, residency programs, jazz workshops and classes, concerts, and recitals for schools, community centers, and churches. Doors Open Jazz understands that access to quality music education has the power to change students’ lives. When a young child learns a musical instrument, it boosts their MathIQ, memory, and language skills. Better grades, better opportunities, better jobs = better communities.
