The Chattanooga Theatre Centre (CTC) is a non-profit community theatre dedicated to enriching lives through quality performing arts. CTC’s education and outreach programs feature field trip school shows for youth theatre plays, Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) touring shows for ages 2–5, and in-school workshops including The Power of Improv, Shakespeare: Page to Stage and other custom offerings.
CTC’s Education Program focuses on delivering inclusive, engaging theatre shows, experiences, and workshops that foster creativity, curiosity, and connection. Guided by a mission to make theatre accessible to all, CTC creates transformative, community-focused arts performances and experiences.
Program Overview
The CTC Youth Theatre field trip season presents curriculum-aligned productions centered on “The American Experience”—covering history, jazz music, civics, and leadership through fast-paced, interactive shows for student audiences. The lineup includes:
The Entire American Revolution (in 40 minutes or less!) – Sept 20, Sept 30, Oct 1–2 2026 (9:30 AM & 11:30 AM)
Harry Connick Jr.’s The Happy Elf – Dec 8, Dec 10 2026(9:00 AM & 11:30 AM)
Schoolhouse Rock Live! – Feb 16–19 2027(9:00 AM & 11:30 AM)
Duck for President – May 11–12 2027 (9:30 AM & 11:30 AM)
Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) Touring Shows engage children as young as two-years-old in original, 30-minute, immersive productions that teach them more about the world around them. The TVY program travels into childcare facilities, schools, and other locations.
CTC Teaching Artists are available to lead in-school workshops including The Power of Improv, Shakespeare: Page to Stage and other custom offerings.
