About
Arts in McNairy was founded in 2001 on the principle that participation in the arts is a cornerstone for the development of a healthy community. Over the past 20 years, AiM has demonstrated this principle through arts programs, concerts, performances, cultural festivals, workshops, public art installations, exhibits and an in-depth exploration of McNairy County’s creative traditions. The organization has been recognized at the local, state, and national level for excellence in rural arts development and planning. Simply stated, we aspire to connect local creatives to the larger community where their gifts may be shared and appreciated. Join us today!
Program Overview
Arts in McNairy presents live theater performances for school field trips.
The first offering is “Poe: Dreams of Madness” by Allyssa Haynes on October 23, 2026.
Macabre author Edgar Allan Poe’s classic tales come to life in this award-winning adaptation that’s both original and familiar, with classic elements from several of his most famous stories. Followed by “The Jumping Mouse” by Debbie Roy on February 12, 2027. Inspired by a Native American folk tale, this one-act play follows the journey of Little Mouse. Grandfather, in his role as teacher, tells of the adventures and changes that happen when a small mouse asks questions and then travels out into the world to find his answers.
