Teaching Artists
Tennessee Teaching Artist Roster
The Tennessee Arts Commission defines teaching artists as professional artists skilled at teaching their craft in an educational setting. The intent of the Teaching Artist Program is to enrich and support quality education, not to supplant services provided by trained arts educators. Professional artists can enhance the educational process and provide inroads to learning that are engaging, creative, and meaningful.
Teaching artists often incorporate a variety of techniques and adjust instruction according to the specific needs of educational environments. For information regarding the application process to become a Tennessee Arts Commission Teaching Artist, view the Teaching Artist Roster Guidelines.
