Determining Main Idea & Detail using Poetry & Theater

This lesson is designed to help students become more familiar with comprehending poetry by finding the main idea and supporting details, and reviewing poetry elements (stanza and rhyme scheme). By acting out the main idea of poetry examples, students will be able to visualize the text and build their understanding that the details within text provide us our evidence to find the main (central) idea.
