POL School Registration Deadline is January 22

The school registration deadline is January 22, 2016. School competitions do not need to be held by January 22, but schools must be signed up by then to participate in the competition. Each school will then need to register their winning student officially as a POL state finals participant by Tuesday, February 16, 2016. The state competition will be held at the Nashville Children’s Theatre March 19, 2016.

POL is a national recitation contest for high school students that seeks to foster the next generation of literary readers by capitalizing on the latest trends in poetry: recitation and performance. The contest requires less than three weeks of class time, and can also be run as an after school activity. POL instills in students a love for poetry while also developing their self confidence, public speaking skills and reading comprehension.
