Since opening in February 2014, OZ Arts Nashville has established itself as a destination for world-class innovative contemporary performing and visual art experiences, presenting such luminaries as Philip Glass, Tim Robbins’ The Actors’ Gang, Kyle Abraham and Abraham.In.Motion, Peter Brook’s Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Laurie Anderson, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Heeseop Yoon, SITI Company, Bang On a Can All-Stars, Kid Koala, and Michelle Dorrance and Dorrance Dance, among others. OZ Arts connects visiting and local artists to the community by collaborating with area schools, universities, and community organizations to organize special tours, workshops, and performances.

Program Title: “Papalagui” School Performances

Program Type: Arts Appreciation

Program Description:

OZ Arts becomes reminiscent of a 19th-century World Exposition, home to a variety of “exhibits,” including spoken word, poetry, theatre, dance and sound in Papalagui, a new moving performance piece that explores our culture’s views on nature, time, and money. School performances will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at OZ Arts Nashville. Tickets are $10 per attendee.

Program Title: Oz School Days

Program Type: Arts Appreciation

Program Description:

OZ School Days is a daylong multi-arts program engaging students ages 5 to 15 at Centennial Performing Arts Studios on four days during the academic school year when Metro Nashville Public Schools are out of session for public holidays. Each date has a unique contemporary theme that inspires workshops in visual art, theater, music and movement. Students rotate through workshops led by Nashville-based teaching artists. This year, programs are offered on November 12, 2018; January 7, 2019; January 21, 2019; and February 18, 2019 from 9:00am – 4:00pm. Registration is $50 per student.
