Elaine’s earliest creative efforts were spent in the field of education spanning a career of more than thirty years. As a teacher, she has taught students of all ages K-12 as well as adult learners. She has worked extensively with both special education and regular education students. As a teacher consultant and supervisor, she has worked closely with many teachers to help develop integrated educational programs and has facilitated numerous workshops.

Since retirement she focused on learning new skills in art as ardently as she focused on her profession. She has published a children’s book “Yahootie and the Shoe Shenanigans” and continually takes classes in clay, fused glass, drawing and painting. The book is available on line and in area book stores. Her other work is exhibited and sold in a number of fine art galleries.

Elaine has always enjoyed the challenge of making learning fun and rewarding for her students. She believes that using multiple techniques, strategies, materials and resources enables her to reach and teach all students. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she enjoys collaborating with other teachers to provide a positive learning environment.
