Doodle 4 GoogleFrom Ann Brown, Director of Arts Education —

This year’s Doodle for Google theme is “What I See for the Future.” Students in grades K-12 are invited to submit artwork reflective of the theme that also incorporates the letters G-o-o-g-l-e. The deadline to submit artwork is December 2.

Students may use any medium and materials they would like to create their artwork. Doodles will be judges based off of:

  •  Artistic merit—based on artistic skill
  •  Creativity—representation of the contest theme, use of the letters in the Google logo, and the unique approach to the doodle
  •  Theme communication—how well the contest theme is expressed in both the artwork and the written statement

The national winner will have his or her doodle featured on the U.S. Google.com homepage for one day and will also receive a $30,000 college scholarship, among other prizes. The national finalists will have their doodles featured in the Doodle 4 Google gallery and receive a $5,000 college scholarship, among other prizes. State and territory winners will have their doodles included in the Doodle 4 Google gallery and receive an Android tablet.
