2017-18 STS Applications Open August 8

Student Ticket Subsidy (STS) applications for the 2017-2018 school year will become available August 8 at 8:00 a.m. CDT, 9:00 a.m. EDT.
Since 2010, the STS program has given the opportunity to more than 700,000 students to experience the arts. By providing funds for artist fees, ticket costs and transportation fees, students from Tennessee public schools can experience a broad variety of cultural opportunities, arts disciplines and artists.
Allowable activities include exposure-based arts performances, exhibits, or field trips. Activities also may include artist residencies of more than one day that allow students hands-on participation in an art form. Such activities could also include a supplemental activity like a field trip or school-wide assembly to ensure that many students have access to high-quality professional arts and cultural experiences.
Schools may apply for a maximum of $3,000 per fiscal year. Funding for STS is allocated per county according to school age population and by demand. STS applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are expended. Applications must be received a minimum of 30 days prior to the start of the proposed event.
Note that all schools must be registered in the Commission’s online grants system to apply. Schools are encouraged to register before August 8. Learn more about how to register.
